Hi Friends!

Just a friendly reminder about the next Friends of Gardnerville meeting tomorrow morning at 8:30am in room 2 at the school.

In addition to reviewing upcoming fundraising events and brainstorming ideas for future programs and/or events we will be providing a recap of the developments with both FoG and the MusIQ lab in the last month.

Following the meeting we will be taking a quick tour of the MusIQ lab and receiving a brief training session between 9:40 - 10:40.  Representatives from STAR Education and Jim Mullen, founder of Adventus MusIQ are expected to be present as well if you have questions or comments for them. 

We hope to see you there, but if you can't make it, then please feel free to email your thoughts, ideas and/or comments to friendsofgardnerville@yahoo.com.

ALL WEEK:

Our Book Fair starts Monday September 10thin the Library and runs all week. Children will be able to buy books during recess, lunch and after school. Parents can make purchases for Classroom Libraries at Back to School Night on Tuesday September 11 from 4 - 7 pm.  Your kids' teachers should have a WISH LIST BAG - to make the purchases easy for you.

BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT  From 4-7 pm Mr Urbina and the Friends of Gardnerville will have a short presentation and then there is the  introduction to the faculty of Gardner Street School and Classroom Visits!

The PTA will be selling PIZZA dinner  and the Friends of Gardnerville will be selling coffee and desserts.

If you can help the PTA Sell Pizza - Please contact Marialena 

Jacaranda Gourmet is providing some desserts and Coffee - But We need donations of Baked Goods, as well assome Parents to help sell. If you can help FoG please contact Lesley Holmes by replying to this email. Backed Goods can be dropped of Tuesday in the Parent Center.

Welcome Back to Gardnerville!

Welcome Back and a Huge Welcome to our New Families and Students to Gardnerville!  We are in for  another Great Year!  We became a California Distinguished School and this is an Honor we do not take lightly. We are determined to make this a Great year for our kids!  With our fundraising efforts last year, Friends of Gardnerville is funding the Michael Jackson MusIQ Lab so that our kids can continue to learn the language of Music!

We have an IMMEDIATE NEED FOR FUNDS TO BRING BACK OUR LIBRARY AIDE!  Drastic Budget Cuts eliminated out Library aide and the only way to get her back is to aggressively fundraise through Friends of Gardnerville!  We have initiated a Pledge Drive and we are asking every family to participate.  Letters and Credit Card Forms went home on Tuesday and Wednesday with the important Documents that need filling out. All Donations are Tax Deductible and 100% of the funds remain at the school for our kids. Friends of Gardnerville is a 501 (c) 3 organization.

We need every family's support in order to continue to make Gardner Street School Distinguished and the best it can be!

I just wanted to remind the kids and families and friends, that the Art Cards are available online!

If you did not get a chance to order your child's art cards at the Art Carnival or in the classroom, there is still an opportunity to do so!  Simply Visit www.OrderKidsCards.com  and see all the children's work and place your orders now!

For Orders placed in the classroom and at the Fair - we should be receiving the cards by next week, you should be receiving a call from Lesley to tell you how to collect them.

If your child did not get a chance to participate this year  - We will be doing this again for the Holidays!

This Week at Gardnerville

This week at Gardnerville Tuesday - Make sure thata your Childs art work is in for the Kids are Stars Greeting Card Projects - Your childs artwork will be printed on cards and available for you to purchase at the Art Festival on June 15th $20 a box This Wednesday there is a Friends of Gardnerville general meeting in the Parent Center at 8:30 am. This Thursday Room 4 will be selling popsicles after school for $1. We are raising money for their feild trip to the san Juan Capistrano Mission. Sundays Concert in the Michael Jackson Auditorium has been cancelled due to multiple circumstances. Please join us for our last concert on the 17th of June Have a good Week!

Tuesday, April 24th - OPEN HOUSE AND SCIENCE FAIR

Friday May 4th  Friends of Gardnerville 2nd Annual Spring Fling and Silent Auction - Get involved now for this great evening for parents!  kids have a great time too at the babysitting provided by Star!

June 8th  Gardnerville Art Festival and Science Fair  Come chill in the Garderville cafe  and enjoy the children's art that they have worked so hard on all year. This is going to be an exciting event.  Our Arts Festival Committee is still looking for some parents that will make this an incredible event!

The Opening of the Michael Jackson Music Education Lab featuring MUSIQ!

Hello Friends,

Here are some quick photos from the grand opening of the MuisIQ Lab  as well as some press coverage links!  Special thanks to everyone who helped make this such a success; we have had some great feedback!
